Five new Mission Presidents have been called from the Africa Southeast Area. Four of them will be serving in the Africa Southeast Area.

Khumbulani Mdletshe, W. Jean-Pierre Lono, Walter Chatora, Lutumba Jean Claude Mabaya and Albert Mutariswa will begin their service as Mission Presidents in July 2019.

In January 2019, the First Presidency of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced the calling of new mission presidents who along with their wives, will begin their service as mission presidents in July 2019. Five brethren and their wives from the Africa Southeast Area were among those called to serve.

                     

Khumbulani Mdletshe, 54, and Futhi Mdletshe are members of the Florida 1st Ward, Soweto South Africa Stake. They are the parents of four children and will begin their service in July presiding over the Kenya Nairobi Mission.

Brother Mdletshe is an Area Seventy and a former mission presidency counselor, stake presidency councilor, stake Young Men president, high councilor, branch president, bishopric counselor and missionary in the England London South Mission. He was born in Kwa Mashu, South Africa, to Soka John Mdletshe and Qondeni Florence Mdletshe.

Sister Mdletshe is a Sunday School teacher and former ward Relief Society President and Primary President, and ward Relief Society, Young Women and Primary presidency councilor. She was born in Durban, South Africa, to Siphiew Emmanual Hlongwane and Gcinaphi Getrude Hlongwane.

                               

W. Jean-Pierre Lono, 59, and Angel Lono are members of the Kingasani 6th Ward, Kinshasa Democratic Republic of the Congo Kimbanseke Stake. They are the parents of seven children and will begin their service in July presiding over the Congo Mbuji-Mayi Mission.

Brother Lono is an Area Seventy and former stake president, stake presidency councilor, high councilor, branch president, branch presidency counselor and branch clerk. He was born in Katanga, Democratic Republic of the Congo (Sankuru originally), to Longandja Ohonge Pierre and Dikondja Walo Julienne.

Sister Lono is a Relief Society teacher and a former ward Relief Society and Young Women president, and branch Relief Society teacher. She was born in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo, to Mfuni Raphael Muzenga and Ntumba Jeanne Kashala.

                           

Walter Chatora, 53, and Diana Chatora are members of the Centurion 1st Ward, Centurion South Africa Stake. They are the parents of three children and will begin their service in July presiding over the Uganda Kampala Mission.

Brother Chatora is an Area Seventy and a former stake president, stake presidency counselor, bishop, high councilor and bishopric counselor. He was born in Zvishavane, Zimbabwe, to Tsikai Chatora and Machivei Chatora.

Sister Chatora is a self-reliance specialist and a former ward Relief Society president, ward Relief Society and Primary presidency counselor, and Relief Society compassionate service coordinator. She was born in Harare, Zimbabwe, to Mavahura Peter Musekiwa and Bessie Tsitsi Mavhura.

                       

Lutumba Jean Claude Mabaya, 58, and Masube Mimie Kayanga-Mabaya are members of the San-Fil Ward, Kinshasa Democratic Republic of the Congo Masina Stake. They are the parents of four children and will begin their service in July presiding over the Democratic Republic of the Congo Lubumbashi Mission.

Brother Mabaya is a former Area Seventy, counselor in a mission presidency, stake president, stake presidency counselor, bishop, branch president and member of a branch presidency. He was born in Kalunga, Kananga, Kasai-Occidental, Democratic Republic of the Congo, to Kisanga Lutumba and Mishika Simonade Niange.

Sister Mabaya is a former ward Primary president, member of a ward Primary presidency, member of a ward Relief Society presidency and branch Young Women president.

                   

Albert Mutariswa, 53, and Melion Mutariswa are members of the Mabelreign Ward, Harare Zimbabwe Stake. They are the parents of four children and will begin their service in July presiding over the Nigeria Enugu Mission.

Brother Mutariswa is a Zimbabwe Mission presidency counselor and a former stake president, stake presidency counselor, bishop, bishopric counselor and elders quorum president. He was born in Bindura, Mashonaland Central, Zimbabwe, to Arnold Usavi Manhombo and Rosemary Mucherengi.

Sister Mutariswa is a Relief Society teacher and a former ward Primary presidency counselor. She was born in Murehwa, Mashonaland East, Zimbabwe, to Eliah Kandunya Muza and Ester Chidziva.
