Directors of Temporal Affairs announced for the Africa Central Area and the Africa South Area

On October 23, 2019, Steven Maynes was presented as Director of Temporal Affairs for the Africa Central Area and Marius von Mollendorff was presented as Director of Temporal Affairs for the Africa South Area.

Beginning August 1, 2020, the Africa Southeast Area will be divided forming the Africa Central Area and the Africa South Area. Africa Southeast Area President, S. Mark Palmer, announced Brother Steven Maynes as Director of Temporal Affairs for the new Africa Central Area and Brother Marius von Mollendorff as Director of Temporal Affairs for the new Africa South Area. Brother Maynes and Brother von Mollendorff will assume their new roles on August 1, 2020.

  

Steven Maynes began working for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 2003. He has fulfilled assignments as Director, Headquarters Facilities Manager, Europe Area Physical Facilities. He is currently appointed as Director of Temporal Affairs in Europe.

Born in Castro Valley, California, brother Maynes graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Brigham Young University and completed further graduate studies at National University.

He is a former bishop, branch president, high councilor, ward mission leader and missionary in the Spain Madrid Mission. He also served as a mission president in the Bolivia Santa Cruz Mission.

He and his wife, Karen Eileen Loomis, have four children.

            

Marius von Mollendorff began working for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1995 as an accountant. He also worked as Institute Director, Seminaries and Institues Coordinator, Area Distribution Manager, Area Materials Management Department Manager, Area Physical Facilities Manager and completed the Leadership Development Program. He currently serves as Director of Temporal Affairs for the Africa Southeast Area.

Brother von Mollendorff graduated with a BCom. in Business Economics and Industrial Psychology from Stellenbosch University and an Honors degree in Industrial Psychology from the University of South Africa. He also graduated with a Master of Business Administration from Management College of Southern Africa.

He and his wife, Natanya, have five children.
