Church Youth Group Participates in Morality Workshops

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints recently held a Youth Conference in Richards Bay, South Africa where nearly 60 youth (both church members and non-members) participated. The theme of the conference was: “A Righteous Mormon Youth”.

Each young person (ages 12-18) participated in workshops focused on “Guarding Your Virtue” (staying sexually pure), “Knowing Your Enemy” (pornography, HIV, teen pregnancy) and “Increasing God’s Army” (sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ).

As the group of youth entered the church, they wrote their testimonies of Jesus Christ and posted them on a wall.  It was an impressive display of their love of Christ.

The teenage participants were most appreciative of the instruction and guidance received.  Some comments following the inspiring conference included:

“It was awesome!”

“What I enjoyed most about the youth conference was the class where I learned how to better explain and share the gospel with my non-member friends.”

“I enjoyed all the testimonies shared.  It truly strengthened my testimony.”

One of the adult instructors said, “I could feel their real love for the gospel and their enthusiasm to live the commandments.”

As the conference came to a close, the youth felt strengthened and better prepared to face the challenges and temptations of their generation.
