Due to recent violence in South Africa, numerous refugees do not have homes they can return to due to fear of violence, and have now chosen to return to their home countries. The Red Cross is assisting in coordinating buses for those wishing to leave from the three camps established in the Durban-KZN area. About 60 men, women and children per bus take at least a two-day journey back to their country. As most only have a few items they can take with them, the Red Cross is supplying needed items, including hygiene kits, to aid them in their trip home. Although the attacks have stopped, there is still an influx of refugees coming into the camps.
